PLOT: Karen (Sonja Richter) is working so constantly That she has little time for her husband (Michael Nyqvist) and daughter. When she spies a handsome man on the street in Paris, she feels an electric attraction That changes her life. She learns That Machik (Marcin Dorocinski) is a professor visiting from Poland, and she pursues him relentlessly, even going so far as to follow him all the way to Warsaw and ensconcing herself in an apartment right across the street from the flat where he lives with his wife and family. While Machik initially encourages the romance, he soon tires of Karen and tries to extricate himself from the relationship.

Plot

Description:
A cinematic adaptation of the studies of sexual deviancy by Richard von Krafft-Ebing, Sigmund Freud's mentor and the major precursor to Kinsey's studies. The film is structured after the silent documentary Häxan (aka Witchcraft Through the Ages), and kind of mimics the visual styles of silent horror films and German Expressionist films, albeit in vibrant color cinematography. The two elements that should be especially praised are the art direction and the musical score. It looks beautiful, and sounds beautiful. I think director Bret Wood, if he's given more chances after this fascinating experiment, might turn out to be somebody really special.
